In four days John and I will be celebrating our first wedding anniversary! Truthfully, it feels unreal how quickly time has flown by. Is it really 2017 already? Not to mention, I never did get around to posting about our wedding or honeymoon last year. Huge fail. Although, I feel like just yesterday we were making our last minute arrangements for our wedding.
Built in the 1920’s, the Colonial House is unlike any other place in our quaint little town. Our architecture, sadly, is very different than the colonial-style of this home. Full of history and allure, I fell in love with this venue. John and I had visited a couple other venues which were gorgeous! However, none quite stood out like this place.
the wedding day
Originally we had planned to get married outside in the garden with the gorgeous bridge over the creek. However, mother nature had other plans for us! Due to already being overwhelmed with so many other things, I was a lot less bothered by this fact than I thought I would be. Thank goodness. I distinctly remember a few family members “tip-toeing” around me due to the rain all morning ha ha! Even though we moved the wedding inside, I still absolutely loved how everything fell into place.
Truthfully, I wouldn’t change a thing. Especially when it came to the venue! Everything about the Colonial House was a dream come true. The stunning kitchen that I could do cartwheels in, the winding staircase with a perfect view of the garden, the many rooms with vintage decor. Honestly, the list goes on and on!
