happy friday

one // Adopting a puppy. We are so darn happy to announce that we are adding to our family! While I was volunteering at our local adopt-a-pet this past weekend, I met the sweetest little pit bull pup. Immediately I fell in love with him and knew I had to bring him home. Shockingly, my husband (eventually) agreed.

two // Winter break. Admittedly I am beyond excited about taking a two week break from college. With the end so close in sight, I am struggling to maintain motivation. I am just so ready to be finished!

three // Still working out. I’ll be honest, I am horrible at starting a habit. However, for two and a half weeks now I have been working out consistently. Not to mention, I have even been eating healthier!

four // Getting ready for Christmas parties. This time of the year is always so fun! Between family get togethers, friend parties, and work parties we have a full schedule.

five // Secret pal reveal at work. Our special events committee at the credit union runs a secret pal program. When I found out I signed up right away! My amazing secret pal, and friend, announced herself yesterday!

six // Preparing for the new year. There are so many things that I have in the works for next year. To say I am excited is an understatement.

one // Volunteering for the Financial Reality Fair at the local middle school. Having the opportunity to work with so many kids (over sixty-five showed up!) and teach them about finances was amazing! Not to mention, I was surprised at how many of them took the financial reality fair seriously. Side note: middle school kids have A LOT of energy.

two // Hosting the end of our silent auction benefit. Today will be a twelve hour work day for me, but I am looking forward to it! Being the lead on such an amazing project has humbled me as well as made me see the good in people. Knowing that 100% of proceeds will be going to Crossroads Housing has my heart ready to burst with excitement!

three // The holiday spirit. Downtown is decked out with lights and Christmas decoration! Not to mention, I get to stare at an adorable Christmas tree all day at work. This time of the year is my favorite!

four // Only having two months left of college. Guys, this is a big one for me. Through the laughter, tears, stress, and joy I cannot wait to finally have my Bachelor’s degree.

five // Working out almost every single day this week. After feeling like absolute garbage for months, I am finally getting back into the swing of things. From not working out and eating like garbage I have been exhausted. So far I have worked out four days this week and did two separate workouts this morning!

six // Our pups. As our two pups get older I find myself appreciating the time I have with them more and more. We had a scare last year with our lab, Magnum, when he had a seizure during the holiday season.

one // Having an absolutely amazing blended family.  I love and appreciate my family. How we are always there for each other and include each other in as many things as possible.

two // Celebrating my birthday. My coworkers were so wonderful and decorated my desk, baked me an apple pie, and bought me sweet gifts. Not to mention, my secret pal dropped off an adorable birthday gift basket while I was on my break! Then, when I got home John surprised me with a Cricut!

three // Signing up for my first 5k for 2018. Because of “early bird” deals, I could not help but register more than six months in advance for the Bubble Run 5k. I only had to pay a $20 registration fee! I did the Bubble Run 5k earlier this year and had such a fun time.

four // My cousin and his girlfriend getting ready to have their baby! They were admitted to the hospital the day before my birthday on the eighth and we are all eagerly awaiting his arrival.

five // Getting a new roof on our home. While this was not our first choice to spend such a large sum of money on, it was a must. A few weekends ago our roof began to leak! Since then, every time it would rain (which has been every day) we would stress out. We are definitely thankful to have a new roof over our heads with a thirty year warranty.

six // New purchases. Recently I have bought a few goodies to treat myself. One of my favorites is the Make Yourself at Home book by Moorea Seal!

one // My boss electing me as the lead for an amazing community project. During an all-staff training, each department was given $200 and the task to team up with a local charity. The goal is to use the $200 to grow that money and then donate it to the chosen charity. Our chosen charity provides a home for homeless families and provides for them until they are able to get onto their feet.

two // Discovering an amazing pet store with fantastic prices. John and I came across an adorable pet store that sells mainly organic cat and dog foods and treats as well as a lot of supplies and toys. The prices are incredible too! We bought a new food bowl for our lab so that he can’t vacuum up his food any more! Not to mention, we bought quite a few treats as well.

three // Celebrating my birthday month. The first of November marks the start of my birthday month! Also, Thanksgiving! Only five more days until I turn twenty-eight.

four // Stranger Things season two. While we were unable to binge watch the entire second season in a night, we are sure trying to finish the season! Unfortunately work schedules make it difficult to do so.

five // Getting scared half to death at work but being able to laugh about it later… Much later. I happened to glance up at the glass entrance doors just to see someone in a Pennywise (from the new It movie) standing there staring in. They stood there for a good thirty seconds holding a red balloon. Once I finally managed to start breathing to try to point it out to my coworkers, they walked away. My heart felt like it tried to jump out of my chest!

six // Decaf Americanos. Can’t stop, won’t stop.

one // Having a successful six-month performance review at work. The best part, I may have been given really exciting news as well as amazing feedback. Not to mention, I was able to bring home my review paperwork so that I could focus on continuing to improve.

two // All of the babies. Lately my social media feeds have been filled with adorable newborns! Most excitingly, my cousin’s girlfriend is getting really close to her date. Of course I can’t have any more babies, but that won’t stop me from snuggling the ones close to me!

three // Starting the show Riverdale. Due to being a huge fan of the Archie comics, I knew I had to watch this show! Surprisingly, the other night John was sweet enough to let us watch the first episode. My favorite part, we both loved it! I found myself laughing through the entire first episode.

four // Our incredibly stormy weather. True to it’s nature, Washington has been getting quite a bit rain lately and I am loving it. The weatherman announced that two storms would pass through. Which I was pretty excited about!

five // Hocus Pocus on television. Fall is my favorite season for so many reasons. One of them being that I am able to watch Hocus Pocus as much as I want without getting weird looks!

six // Learning more about the new moon and setting good intentions. One of my favorite posts to write this year would, hands down, be my new moon intentions post.
